33 Week Update

How far along? 32 weeks (The size of a pineapple.  Between 19-22 inches and about 4.9 pounds.)

Total weight gain/loss: +24 lbs

Maternity clothes:Yep.

Have you told family and friends?  Everybody knows now :)

Have you started to show yet? Yep.

Sleep:  I have just come to an understanding that there will probably not be a traditional good night's sleep for a really long time.  I wake up several times a night, have a very hard time getting comfortable and have weird dreams all night long.  My new definition of a "good" night's sleep is when I am able to stay in bed for a decent amount of hours and every time I wake up I am able to go back to sleep pretty quickly.  <------- Still that.
Best moment this week:  Two best moments this week!  One was our home church shower.  We go to a very large, very loving, very gracious congregation and they went above and beyond at our shower!  Let's just say Baby Shamrock has everything she needs to come home and just about everything she could even want!  The second best moment was just last night, I was awake (standard) and felt her punching me and thought how weird it was that I could feel the movement but not the actual arm moving plus how weird it was that she kept doing it over and over (it was 4am and I was exhausted, my reasoning skills weren't quite up to par) and then it finally hit me!  She had the hiccups!  I woke M up and made him feel.  It was a really fun moment with our girl!

Miss Anything? A good night's sleep.  Being able to take a deep breath.  Not constantly having a foot in my rib cage.  Not living on a diet where Tums is a staple.

Movement: We are now to the point where there is more baby in there than amniotic fluid so her movements feel a lot stronger.  Most everyone has been able to feel her or see her moving (you can definitely tell through my clothes when she is moving around).  She also is reacting more to sounds and light and you can usually make her move if she is awake.

Food cravings: The only specific "food" would be Sonic ice!  I love it and want to have it, fresh, at all times!  <----  Yep, I still LOVE it!

Anything making you queasy or sick? When she sticks her little foot in my rib cage it almost makes me throw up it is such a intense pain that comes on so fast.  That and the thought of childbirth being so close.

Gender prediction: GIRL.  If she comes out a boy we probably won't have anything monogrammed wrong (since we CAN NOT agree on a name) but we will have A TON (like a ridiculous amount) of baby girl clothes that have to be returned.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Back pain, heartburn and some uncomfortableness in my stomach (as it is REALLY starting to stretch) and, of course, the inability to sleep.  <------ Still all of that!

32 Week Update

How far along? 32 weeks (The size of a honeydew.  About 19 inches and about 4.5 pounds.)

Total weight gain/loss: +23 lbs (Small victories.  I actually lost a whole pound from last week.)

Maternity clothes:Yep.

Best moment this week:  We had another shower, this time in Valdosta (My "home."  Where we moved when I was nine months old, I lived until I went to college and my parents moved when I was twenty.  All of my dad's side of the family still lives there as well as friends who are definitely more like family than friends.  These are friends who their great-grandparents and grandparents were friends with my great grandparents and my grandparents, their parents went to school with my dad, had babies at the same time as my mom, me and my sisters have known my entire life and now we are having kids who will grow up friends just the same.) and it was wonderful.  I have so, so many memories from this special place and there is just something special about being "home" with my "people."  My two favorite moments were when El and I were walking from church to eat in the school cafeteria (just like we did every Sunday when I was her age) and explaining to her where me and her mom and aunt and grandparents did things while growing up (it was just a perfect day weather wise, she was in a great mood and I was feeling good) and there was a moment during my shower where I was surrounded by my life long best friends and looked down and their kids and El were all playing and laughing together just like we did with their moms in that very same house with some of those very same toys thirty years ago and thinking about how soon Shamrock will get to start making those same memories.

31 Week Update

How far along? 31 weeks (The size of a head of .  About 19 inches and about 3.9  pounds.)

Total weight gain/loss: +24 lbs (Gross.)

Maternity clothes:Yep.

Have you told family and friends?  Everybody knows now :)

Have you started to show yet? Yep.

Sleep:  I had one bad night this week.  I wake up several times a night but no complaints because I always go back to sleep really quickly and with no trouble.
Best moment this week:  We got her nursery cleaned up, our chair came in (our Christmas present from Matt's parents and THE BEST glider/rocker/recliner EVER!) and we got it in her room and I went through all the gifts and clothes that she has gotten so far and bought a few organizational pieces and got all her stuff in her closet!  So fun and it makes it SO REAL!

Miss Anything? Knowing when to stop eating.  My stomach is QUICKLY shrinking and my head hasn't caught on to the timing yet that I need to stop eating BEFORE I feel like it.

Movement: I feel her everyday, mostly at night.  Occasionally I will feel her during the day but I am pretty sure it's just because she moves a lot in her sleep like her mom used to when she slept!

Food cravings: The only specific "food" would be Sonic ice!  I love it and want to have it, fresh, at all times!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Heartburn.  Heartburn makes me sick.

Gender prediction: GIRL.  According to the sonogram the Chinese Gender Calender and every single old wives tale was WRONG!  (Refer to my earlier posts!)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Back pain, heartburn and some uncomfortableness in my stomach (as it is REALLY starting to stretch).

(I'll try to get  a picture up tonight when M gets home!  I'll REALLY try to this week!)

30 Week Update

How far along? 30 weeks (The size of a head of lettuce.  About 18 inches and about 3.2  pounds.)

Total weight gain/loss: +21 lbs (I found the scale.)

Maternity clothes:Yep.

Have you told family and friends?  Everybody knows now :)

Have you started to show yet? Yep. My stomach gets into a room approximately three seconds before the rest of me does. So, yes.

Sleep:  My back has acted up really bad the past few days so my sleep gets interrupted pretty regularly.  Last night was a lot better though.
Best moment this week:  My first baby shower!  My parents home congregation threw me a baby shower Sunday and it was SO fun getting all of the new baby stuff!  Also, our chair that we got for Christmas is in and we are picking it up today or (more likely) tomorrow.  It's the first piece of furniture for her room!

Miss Anything? A few weeks ago when I couldn't think of any complaints to type in "Symptoms"  ;)

Overeating.  Once I get anywhere past hungry I need to stop because there isn't much space these days between 'I'm hungry' and 'I overate and feel sick'. <---- Still that!

Gender prediction: GIRL.  According to the sonogram the Chinese Gender Calender and every single old wives tale was WRONG!  (Refer to my earlier posts!)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: The back pain is getting into the severe category at times and I am starting to feel shortness of breath a lot and even got dizzy and had to take a little break in the mall this past weekend.  Besides those and heartburn though I really can't complain.  It's going pretty well!

(I'll try to get  a picture up tonight when M gets home!)
